At The Master's Martial Arts we use Tae Kwon Do among other martial arts as a framework to develop character in the lives of our students. Our school is different than any other martial arts center in the world because of how we go about developing character in those who attend. We have a saying for our students to memorize every day as well as a lesson that goes with that saying in each class. We also have a word study or character quality study for each belt. By the time a student receives their black belt, they will have heard close to five hundred character building lessons. Before a student moves up in belt rank, each must show improvement in their martial arts requirements and quote all the required memorization for their belt level. After they have achieved all necessary requirements at the martial arts school, one of their parents and teachers each must sign an application confirming they are demonstrating the tenets of Tae Kwon Do outside of class. After meeting all of these requirements, they also must evaluate themselves on the positive qualities at each belt level.
Tae Kwon Do is Korean Karate. It is known for its high, powerful kicking. TKD centers around kicking. Using your legs provides an incredible way to defend yourself due to strength and length. Tae Kwon Do can be broken down into three major parts after learning the different techniques: forms, one-steps, and sparring.
